Relics of The Golden Age of Railroads

May, 2025
Once upon a time, steam engines played a significant role in shaping our modern technological world. Today, they are the epitome of the Industrial Revolution and a fascinating example of the ingenuity of mechanical engineers of the golden age of railroads. Steamtown National Historic Park, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, became a home for a few old and retired locomotives and cars.
There are 22 locomotives in the site's collection, and while that amount sounds modest, the impression is very different when you walk among these beasts. I spent a few hours, all the time I could afford there, and felt that this place deserves another visit and another roll of film.
